Event Manager

Located in the heart of Carlton, this venue offers panoramic views of Melbourne, a curated drinks list, and a strong local following. Known for hosting everything from casual gatherings to high-profile brand activations, the venue combines a vibrant atmosphere with professional service standards.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Event Manager to lead our events and reservations operations and contribute to a dynamic hospitality team.

The Role

As Event Manager, you’ll drive all aspects of the venue’s event calendar – from private functions to public experiences – while overseeing our reservations system and supporting day-to-day service operations.

Your responsibilities will include :

Handling all event and group booking enquiries from initial contact to post-event follow-up

Managing and mastering the 7Rooms reservation platform (guest communication, floor plans, reporting)

Selling and coordinating all private functions, group dining, and special events

Working closely with clients to tailor experiences that reflect the venue’s vibe and high standards

Designing, printing and updating food and beverage menus (InDesign or Canva experience a plus)

Preparing signage, floor plans, event briefs and service collateral for FOH and BOH teams

Collaborating with kitchen and bar to ensure smooth execution of all functions and services

Maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event partners, and local businesses

Supporting development of seasonal event programming and cultural partnerships

Being present onsite during major events to oversee execution and guest experience

Assisting with general reservation management and floor support when needed

About You

Previous experience in event coordination or reservations within a busy hospitality venue

Strong understanding of food and beverage operations

Experience with 7Rooms or similar reservation / event software

Confident communicator and client liaison

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Creative, proactive, and team-oriented

Proficient with digital tools such as Canva, InDesign, Excel (or willing to learn)

Holds a current RSA and is available for some evening and weekend shifts
