About the Opportunity : Reporting to the Head of Platform Engineering (LOTE), the Project Engineering Manager – System Engineering will work closely with the Platform Engineering and Technical Governance teams and is accountable for managing key Systems Engineering mechanisms such as requirements and physical submarine interface modelling.
The Collins Class submarine fleet's Life of Type Extension (LOTE) will provide the nation with submarine capability into the 2030's. The Collins boats are internationally regarded among the best conventional submarines in the world. The project is currently in the detailed design phase and ASC is working closely with its stakeholders to deliver the Navy's specific requirements.
Responsibilities : Management of the Model Based Systems Engineering tool which manages the many 1000s of physical submarine interfaces impacted by the LOTE Project scope.Management of the extensive LOTE DOORS database, which includes requirements but also critical data for the integrity of the design such as Safety Controls and Technical Risks.Coordinate key platform integration activities to ensure a balanced engineering solution for all LOTE systems.Coordinate Platform Engineering inputs into the Mission System Working Group (MSWG).Maintenance of the LOTE Mission System Functional Baseline and Allocated Baseline.Maintenance and configuration management of the LOTE DOORS and MBSE environments.Maintenance of the LOTE submarine interfaces, in conjunction with the other platform engineering teams.About You : Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5+ years) in Engineering Project Management on medium to large, multi-dimensional projects.Experience in building and leading multi-discipline technical teams, including supporting the growth of technical team members through evaluating performance and developing growth plans.Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience with submarine and / or submarine system's design and maintenance, or an equivalent level of complex industry experience (eg, Aerospace).Bachelor level qualifications in a technical discipline relevant to the management of complex technical projects or relevant equivalent experience.Further qualifications (i.e., Masters or bridging courses) in Systems Engineering.Professional certifications / memberships in Engineers Australia – Systems Engineering Society of Australia (SESA) or INCOSE. Ideally Charted Engineer.Certificate IV in Complex Project Management or equivalent experience.Eligibility : This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
