We are seeking high-performing professionals with expertise in corporate governance, exceptional attention to detail, and strong customer engagement skills to join the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) as the Director of QAO Audit and Compliance.

This EOI opportunity is only available to current EL2 or high performing EL1 (with HDA) Commonwealth employees with a current TS-PV / TS-PA security clearance.

The Team The Quality Assurance Office (QAO) in the Office of National Intelligence (ONI) is responsible for assuring the quality, consistency, and transferability of Top Secret-Privileged Access (TS-PA) security clearances across the Australian Government and supporting the development of insider threat capabilities.

We run a comprehensive audit and compliance program and actively engage with Australian Government agencies to provide high quality insider threat advice and best practice guidance. The team is small and full of passionate and professional people who work hard to help protect our National Security interests.

The Role The Director QAO Audit and Compliance position requires a combination of security policy and personnel security experience, coupled with auditing, leadership, and extensive customer engagement skills. You will drive this enterprise-level capability to assure the quality, consistency, and transferability of TS-PA security clearances across the Australian Government. You will provide expert policy advice and manage stakeholder engagement across the NIC and wider government. You will lead a team of APS and contracted specialists - developing their skills and expertise to help deliver this whole-of-government capability. Your team will also deliver audit and compliance reporting to inform a range of high-level executive boards. The right individual will play an integral role in the QAO leadership team.
