Aps6 Historian

Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced and qualified APS 6 Historians to join their Community Engagement History Team.

About the Role

As an Historian, you will contribute to the development of commemorative and historical resources that highlight the diverse experiences of Australian military service. This includes producing content for the Minister, departmental executive and the broader public.

You will be a key player in a variety of initiatives such as :

Developing commemorative posters and calendarsManaging oral history projects and image acquisitionContributing to the publication of historical books on Australia's wartime experiencesFact checking, research and speechwritingKey Responsibilities Create and review historically accurate content for commemorative and educational purposesManage multiple priorities and deadlines, particularly around significant anniversariesCollaborate with stakeholders to enhance historical offerings and digital presenceProvide expert historical advice to internal teams and leadershipEnsure compliance with financial and procurement requirementsMentor and support junior team membersDraft and review content including briefings, papers, and official correspondenceWe are seeking candidates who demonstrate : Strong leadership, research and decision making capabilitiesHigh-level writing and communication skillsExperience managing projects and delivering to tight deadlinesThe ability to work independently and within a teamStakeholder engagement skills across various audiencesDesirable Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications in history or a related disciplineProfessional experience in historical research, writing, or publicationFamiliarity with military history, government writing, or public communications is highly regardedOn Offer : Competitive hourly rate of $65 p / h + super4 month role with possible extensionsHybrid working arrangementFor any questions, please call Mel Ireland, , otherwise apply now.
