2 x Solution Architects (ERP - HR and Payroll)Position OverviewApproach Consulting have been engaged to support the recruitment of multiple Solution Architect roles within a key Federal Government Department, to uplift smaller agencies through essential ERP transformation and migration projects.As part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in engaging with various agencies to workshop ERP solutions that align with the unique needs of their environment.In particular, there will be a focus on the HR and Payroll systems.These Solution Architect roles focus on designing and overseeing the technical and functional architecture of the upgraded system.
They assess current business processes, identify gaps, and ensure the new ERP solution aligns with strategic goals.
This includes selecting appropriate technologies, integrating existing systems, and defining data migration and security frameworks.
They collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and vendors to ensure the solution is scalable, efficient, and meets user needs to deliver a system that improves performance, compliance, and business continuity.Working in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment, you'll help address business impacts, risks, and requirements, supporting agencies in their journey to digital transformation.LocationThese roles will be required to have 3 days on-site in Canberra each week with no fully remote options or interstate offices available.ERP TechnologyThe Department already possess strong SAP knowledge, so it is most desirable that the Business Analysts will come with knowledge of alternative ERP solutions including : TechnologyOneAurionWorkdayPeoplesoft(or other)Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse current ERP environments and identify gaps or inefficiencies.Design the target-state architecture aligned with business and IT strategy.Define integration approaches with existing systems and third-party applications.Ensure the upgraded ERP system meets scalability, security, and compliance requirements.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to validate functional and technical requirements.Evaluate and select appropriate tools, platforms, and vendors as needed.Document solution designs, patterns, and architecture decisions for governance.Work closely with the selected ERP vendors to assist in knowledge transfer to the agencies.Experience & ExpertiseStrong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TechnologyOne), including architecture, configuration, and integration in large-scale environments.Experience with government frameworks and standards, such as the Digital Service Standard, Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Information Security Manual (ISM).Proven ability to design end-to-end enterprise solutions that align with business processes, data governance, and compliance requirements.Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language and manage competing priorities.Hands-on experience in data migration, system integration, and cloud-based ERP deployments, including understanding of legacy system constraints.Desired QualificationsBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Architecture certification(s), such as TOGAF.ERP-specific certifications, e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect, or TechnologyOne Consultant Certification, depending on the ERP platform.To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen, and hold an active Baseline clearance (NV1 clearance is desirable).How to applyIf you're ready to drive change in a critical government transformation, apply today to contribute to this impactful ERP journey!For a confidential discussion, please contact Andy on 0402 617 678 or
