Be part of a panel of program and investment design consultants on the Australian Government's Climate Resilient Communities program in the Indo-Pacific, covering the Pacific, Southeast Asia and South Asia regions.
About the Program
Initiated in July 2024, Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) aims to ensure people in the Indo-Pacific are more resilient to climate change and disasters.
Led by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), CRC supports implementation of Australia's climate change commitments and International Development Policy, in line with partner government priorities. CRC incentivises funding towards inclusive climate and disaster resilience programming, with a focus on the water, food, and energy sectors. It does this by increasing climate investments, driving climate integration, and better addressing climate and disaster risk across Australia's development portfolio.
DT Global has been engaged by DFAT to support implementation of CRC.
About the Role
CRC is recruiting Program and Investment Design consultants to join its Panel. Panel members provide high quality technical Program and Investment Design expertise to DFAT on climate program activities and plans at the regional or country level, with DFAT staff, partner governments and CRC implementing partners.
A range of opportunities arise for consultants on the Panel. Consultants with experience working in Indo-Pacific, with all levels of experience are encouraged to apply, including early career.
About You
CRC is looking to engage consultants with skills, expertise and experience in the following areas :
- Team Leaders
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning design specialists
- Design Sector Specialists : experts in specific sectors, including, climate change, water resource management, WASH, agriculture, nature-based solutions, health, education, capacity uplift, GEDSI, market systems development, etc.
The consultants will be required to :
Provide support to embedding inclusive, locally led approaches in design processes and designsProvide specialist support and inputs to the design team processes (consultations, aide memoire, workshops / meetings etc.) for the development of the program design with specific regard to climate change and DRREngage in in-country consultationsSupport integration of climate and disaster resilience into the development of program proposal and design document including climate context and situational analysis, climate risk analysis, Theory of Change, Program Logic, MEL Framework, program implementation and resourcing (e.g. activities, opportunities, Climate Change Strategy, budget and TA)Ensure integration of climate and disaster resilience is aligned with Australian Aid climate policy priorities and commitments, as well as priorities drawn out through further consultationsEnsure integration of the gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) - climate nexus in the design process and ensure it is represented in the design.Selection Criteria
Experience working on international development programsExperience living and / or working in countries where DFAT implements development programsFamiliarity with DFAT requirementsUnderstanding and commitment to gender equality, disability equity and rights, social inclusionExcellent verbal and written communications skills Highly developed stakeholder engagement and management skills (early career people will be encouraged and supported to develop these skills)Ability to work in teams - cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary, in person and virtually, and with diverse levels of experienceProven ability to develop capacity of others and share knowledge and learningCommitment to professional development, including continuous learning and upskilling, as needed.Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant or related fields of expertise Technical capacity and expertise of relevant professional experience in the Indo-PacificAbility and self-initiative to carry out assigned tasks in a team under mínimal supervision as well as an individual on a specific assignmentEngagement & Remuneration
