About This Opportunity
The position forms part of the research project Trust at the Interface – Building Interorganisational and Community Trust for a Just and Effective Net Zero Transition, a two-year, multi-region, mixed-method study focused on the role of trust in Australia's decarbonisation efforts. The project investigates trust dynamics both within and between organisations (e.g. governments, industry, NGOs, finance) and between organisations and communities.
This role involves both qualitative and quantitative research and supports the co-development of practical trust-building frameworks and tools with stakeholders across sectors. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to just climate transitions by informing policy and practice through applied, socially engaged research. This project will be conducted within the wider Net Zero Australia project, a collaboration between The University of Queensland, University of Melbourne and Princeton University.
At this level it is expected that you will also contribute to service and engagement roles and activities.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Research : Contribute to an established research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.Citizenship and Service : Contribute to the development of partnerships, demonstrate leadership through collaboration and mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
A PhD (awarded or near completion) in a relevant discipline (e.g. psychology, business).Demonstrated experience in qualitative and / or quantitative research methods.Strong analytical and writing skills, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications or equivalent outputs.Capacity to engage with diverse stakeholders (e.g. government, industry, Indigenous organisations, community groups).Experience or interest in climate policy, energy transitions, or environmental governance.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.Knowledge of Australian energy policy, Indigenous governance, or regional development.Strong project coordination or stakeholder engagement skills.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including : right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc.
