Job descriptionAssisting with meal preparation, grocery shopping, light house-keeping or other domestic duties. Assisting with personal care including toileting, bathing and personal hygiene, personal grooming, hair and skin care, oral hygiene etc. Providing transportation or accompaniment for shopping, appointment, or other activities. Engaging client with hobbies and interests. Supporting clients to participate in community activities. Attending LGBTQIA+ community events with participants. We use eZaango Care Partners for scheduling and shift information. A certificate III / IV in individual support or relative qualifications. Covid-19 digital certificate. Australian National Police check. Current First Aid and CPR certificate. Current Blue Card. Current Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Screening clearance and NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate. Smart phone. Driver's Licence and Car with comprehensive insurance. Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have the right to work in Australia. Be able to demonstrate commitment to clients and willingness to learn. Skills Needed for the role Experience working with youth and young adult participants with ASD. Experience working with participants in the LGBTQIA+ community. Experience in the any of the following areas a plus, but not essential Physical disabilities, stroke, MS or Spina Bifida, high intensity supports. Intellectual disability or ABIs. Experience with complex mental health. Hoisting / transfers, complex behaviours. Must be able to communicate, read and write in English. Other languages are plus. We are urgently looking for a committed and understanding female support worker to join our Brisbane South team!
Your role will involve providing support to participants in the community and their home and can involve travel.
