Insignia Financial has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cyber Security Engineering Manager.- In this role, you will lead and manage the design, implementation, and operation of core enterprise security controls and technologies across the organisation. Your focus will be on platforms such as intrusion detection / prevention systems, network segmentation, endpoint security solutions, data loss prevention systems, threat and exposure management systems, SIEM (Security Information & Event Management and cloud security. You'll ensure that our security tooling aligns with the organisation's strategy and business objectives while also managing and mentoring our high-performing team.

- Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping our security infrastructure. By leading a robust security posture, you will contribute to protecting critical systems and data, including the life savings of approximately 2 million Australians members and clients.- Key Responsibilities for the Cyber Security Engineering Manager role Include :
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise security technologies, including intrusion detection / prevention systems, network segmentation, endpoint security solutions, data loss prevention systems, threat and exposure management systems, SIEM (Security Information & Event Management and cloud security.
- Collaborate on the creation and upkeep of the strategic roadmap for cyber security technologies, aligning with our goals and adapting to emerging threats and business needs.
- Direct the resolution of high-priority security incidents leveraging tooling deployed and provide guidance for all service incidents, including investigation and recovery efforts.
- Optimise threat detection by ensuring effective integration of security telemetry into the SOC, leading efforts to enhance threat detection capabilities through optimised data ingestion and use case development.
- Guide and support the wider Cyber Security Engineering team, managing day-to-day activities, fostering a high-performance environment, and promoting continuous improvement.
- What You Bring to This Role
- We are looking for a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and proven leadership abilities. To be successful in this role, you will :
- Have extensive experience in a cyber security engineering role, with a proven track record in implementing and managing security technologies in complex environments, including both on-premise and cloud.
- Have a deep understanding and hands-on experience with a range of security technologies, including intrusion detection / prevention systems, network segmentation, endpoint security solutions, data loss prevention systems, threat and exposure management systems, SIEM (Security Information & Event Management and cloud security.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of technical professionals.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and vendors.
- Be up-to-date with the latest cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls, is essential.
- Holding relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or vendor-specific certifications, is highly desirable (but not essential).
