Diesel Technician

Providing inter and intra town routes, school bus, V / Line and charter bus services, LV Bus Lines has more than 120 employees operating a fleet of more than 90 buses across three depots, in Morwell, Moe and Traralgon.

Our maintenance and service division operates out of a state-of-the-art workshop facility that is located in Traralgon. Our company promotes the use new and emerging vehicle technologies that has a focus on efficient, low emission & environmentally friendly vehicles. Our modern fleet is predominantly comprised of Volvo Euro 6 Buses, Volvo Hybrid Electric Buses and a Zero Emission Volvo Electric Bus.

• Mandatory Requirements
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Motor Mechanic with trade certificate in working with heavy vehicles.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain a full Victorian Drivers Licence with a minimum endorsement of Heavy Rigid classification (non-probationary)
• Work experience in working with heavy vehicles of at least 3-5 years (preferable)
• Key Responsibilities
• To identify and repair mechanical faults and defects with company & client vehicles.
• Carry out necessary maintenance and repairs with accordance to priorities.
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components after being repaired (this may include dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmission, steering mechanisms, and other components and checking parts)
• To carry out regular cyclical maintenance and services on company & client vehicles and complete and maintain all compulsory records in accordance with compliance obligations (this may include oil-change, lubrications etc)
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair for proper performance.
• Assist with regular vehicle inspections according to Safe Transport Victoria (STV) and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) safety requirements.
• To carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on company and client vehicles as directed by the workshop supervisor.
• Comply with Workshop Occupational Health & Safety standards and procedures.
• Carry out other workshop duties as required.
• Carry out duties across company depots as required (Traralgon, Morwell & Moe)
• Maintain, clean and tidy workplace.
• Report accidents and / or incidents promptly and in the manner prescribed by the company.
• Salary
• 70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift

• Morwell, VIC 3840 : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
