About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic APS6 Policy Officer to join this organisation. This role involves collaborating with professional services entities, negotiating mutual recognition agreements internationally, analysing feedback from stakeholders, and supporting the streamlining of licensing procedures.
LocationCanberra, ACTContract Duration6 Months + Possibility of 12 Months ExtensionMandatory RequirementsMust have an ACTIVE NV1 or NV2Must Provide a short pitch for the Selection Criteria.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with professional services accreditation, licensing, and regulatory bodies for mutual recognition negotiations.Review and analyse stakeholder feedback, conduct research and draft high-quality papers and briefings.Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory and licensing bodies; develop consultative mechanisms.Demonstrate initiative and strategic thinking; manage workload effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines.Possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills.Qualifications and SkillsEducational BackgroundPreferably with legal qualifications.
ExperienceExperience in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and negotiations is highly desirable.
CompetenciesStrong initiative and ability to exercise good judgement. Competent in strategic thinking and project management. Excellent prioritisation and time management skills. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
