About the Role As Manager People and Culture, you'll lead a small team of HR and OHS professionals to deliver initiatives that foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on leadership-making a real impact from the inside out.
You'll be responsible for :
Leading and mentoring the People and Culture team to provide outstanding service across Council.Developing and embedding policies and strategies that align with our goals and values.Shaping a proactive culture of workplace health and safety, and wellbeing.Driving workforce planning, diversity, inclusion, organisational development, and change initiatives.Overseeing recruitment, induction, training, and performance systems to support growth and capability.Advising on industrial relations, Enterprise Agreement matters, and compliance.Managing key partnerships with WorkSafe, legal advisors, training providers and more.Collaborating with the Executive and broader leadership team to create sustainable people outcomes.This is a dynamic, visible key leadership role that requires confidence, empathy, and vision.
About You You're a people-first leader who brings strategic clarity and operational excellence to everything you do. You're passionate about culture, grounded in legislation, and thrive when balancing complexity with care.
We're looking for someone who brings :
A strong track record in developing people strategies and workplace culture programs that drive results.Experience in OHS and risk management, with sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial relations.The ability to influence, coach, and communicate with clarity at all levels-especially during times of change.A proactive, collaborative leadership style that fosters growth and performance within teams.High-level analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.High standards of confidentiality and professionalism.A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, or alternatively significant HR leadership experience is required.
