Provide advice and assistance to Council and its service units on planning, implementing and evaluating a range of engagement activities.

- Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and embed the Council's online engagement platform across the organisation.
- Facilitate community engagement activities as required in both internal & external locations and across a range of channels e.g. focus groups, community forums, workshops, surveys.
- Investigate and further develop community engagement techniques
- Develop, implement and where required lead Council's range of community engagement activities, including Council's online engagement platform.
- Develop, implement and contribute to a staff training program to build capacity in online engagement tools for improved engagement and research processes and practices across the organisation.
- Assist with the engagement to develop key strategic Council documents including the annual Budget, annual Council Plan and Community Plan.
- Provide insights and data from community engagement to help support Council decision making and communicate findings back to the community and / or stakeholders
- Requirements and Qualifications
- International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate in Engagement preferred
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, statistical research, psychology, community engagement or related discipline and / or other equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Current Drivers licence which is valid to drive within Victoria.
- Experience in devising and implementing community engagement strategies in a diverse service orientated organisation.
- Demonstrated understanding of community engagement methodologies, including the use of online engagement tools.
- Experience in communicating engagement opportunities and findings to the community and stakeholders
- Proven ability to implement organisational improvements in community engagement processes, including tailored delivery of training and support that meets organisational needs.
- Strong relationship building skills and proven ability to work, provide advice and gain cooperation from others in best practice community engagement.
- Sound knowledge and experience in research and data analysis and reporting.
- Project management experience and skills, including time management, stakeholder engagement, record keeping, issues management, attention to detail and delivery of agreed outcomes.
