Image Resources is a growing mineral sands producer and is currently operating a highly successful mine and processing facility at its 100%-owned, high-grade, zircon-rich flagship Atlas mineral sands project, located approximately 2 hours north of Perth near the picturesque towns of Jurien Bay and Cervantes in Western Australia.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Environmental Advisor with rehabilitation experience to join the new Atlas Mine Site team to ensure that the site meets its environmental and rehabilitation obligations including compliance with State and Commonwealth approvals and legislation.
You will be responsible to :
Provide professional, timely environmental advice to mine site personnel as required to ensure the effective transition from construction to operations.
Assist in the planning and supervision of the execution of all site-clearing and rehabilitation.
Support the coordination of external consultants and in relation to environmental surveys including dust, noise, groundwater, vegetation and rehabilitation monitoring.
Assist the development, implementation, and maintenance of the workplace Environmental Management system per statutory and operational requirements.
Report to government and internal stakeholders to meet company legislative and statutory requirements.
Deliver environment training and awareness programs.
Participate in internal audits and environmental incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively managed.
Assist with environmental monitoring, data collection, and reporting undertaken to meet company requirements.
Strong working knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, particularly the Environmental Protection Act (Parts IV and V), the Mining Act, and the EPBC Act (encouraged).
Sound technical expertise in groundwater and surface water sampling methodologies.
Understanding of dieback and potential acid sulfate soils (PASS) management (encouraged).
About you
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar qualification in Environmental Management.
2 years' experience in a similar position preferably in the mining industry
Understanding of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and framework.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislation, approval conditions, and management plans.
A strong commitment to safety, health, environment, people, community, and workplace diversity.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What’s on Offer
This will be a site-based DIDO role at the Atlas project in the Shire of Dandaragan, 2 ½ hours north of Perth and close to the coastal towns of Cervantes and Jurien Bay.
The roster will be5 : 2, 4 : 3, staying in brand new camp accommodation facilities or live locally and commute from the Cervantes or Jurien Bay area each day.
