Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist - General Medicine

The Position

We are on the look out for a permanent Full-Time Staff Specialist / Senior Staff Specialist in General Medicine.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced physician who is able to bring professional qualities to the role which includes being an effective communicator and multidisciplinary team player, bringing with them the attributes of clinical expertise, academic abilities, and professional qualities.

Health Service

The North West Hospital and Health Services (NWHHS) is responsible for the public sector health services in the North West region. The NWHHS covers an area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres and services many of the remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Health Service is responsible for the promotion and wellbeing of people within the service area and ensuring that health services are of a high quality, accessible to all and effective.

Up to $70,000 in incentive payments may be available under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (PDF). Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated.

Essential Criteria

• Hold Australian and / or New Zealand Fellowship or equivalent Consultant level qualification in the advertised specialty;  Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
• Current registration or eligibility for registration in the advertised specialty or other relevant clinical specialty with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
