Assisting and supporting participants with day-to-day activities.

REPORT TO :

Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse / Director

LOCATION :

Perth, Western Australia

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES : Communicate frequently with patients to identify their needs and attend to them accordingly.Ensure that appointments are made and adhered to with patients' physicians as required.Be responsible for the well-being and safety of patients under care.Interact respectfully with patients and their relatives when necessary.Keep all matters related to patients or their families confidential at all times.Extend support / care periods if the need arises.Notify the participant's physician / director and family in the case of serious side effects or health-related issues.Assist with household duties such as laundry, cleaning, meal preparation, gardening, shopping, and supporting them in their interests and hobbies.Assist participants with personal care needs.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS : Certificate IV in Disability or equivalentCurrent driving licenseCurrent CPR / First Aid certificationEXPERIENCE : Minimum of two years' experience in disability, community, or acute careSKILLS : Strong interpersonal skills to easily identify the needs of each participantAbility to remain patient and calm irrespective of provocation from the participant being cared for or supportedCompassionate approach in carrying out dutiesFlexibility in working hours and conditionsAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to work with minimal supervisionHigh level of trust and honesty at all timesExcellent problem-solving abilitiesAdaptability to different conditions and cases
