The Information Officer is responsible to the Assistant Director Intelligence (ADI) for the overall management and control of information processed by the Military Police Intelligence Office (MPIO).
Information management and control includes the registration of all information entering and leaving MPIO, maintaining the integrity of intelligence databases, routine collation of police reporting and the identification of crime and incident patterns and trends from all sources.
The Knowledge and Intelligence (K&I) Branch of the Joint Military Police Unit (JMPU) is responsible for providing intelligence and information management support to the policing functions of the Joint Military Police Force (JMPF) and JMPU HQ.
MPIO is the lead criminal intelligence capability within the ADF and is responsible for delivering tactical, operational and strategic intelligence to key stakeholders.
They must be able to effectively engage with military, APS and external stakeholders. It is desirable to have a broad understanding of the ADF, the national policing environment and / or intelligence practices.
