The APS 5 Administration Officer / Base Support Officer will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
The APS 5 Administration Officer / Base Support Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders individually and as part of a team to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. Base stakeholders may include ADF units, APS divisions, Base Service Contractors, and other external companies and contractors. They are also accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility.
The APS 5 Administration Officer / Base Support Officer may coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
Security and Estate Group, Service Delivery Division, Northern & Central Zone (NCZ) provides a wide variety of products and services to Defence in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. The Northern Territory is currently looking to fill positions at the APS 5 level, with the intention to create a merit pool to potentially fill further similar vacant APS 5 positions.
The Team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to assure prescribed product and services standards are met within agreed time frames as well as build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities. The Team also evaluates activities and processes for compliance with legislation, regulation or standards, design and recommend solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
