We are seeking a passionate and skilled Prep Chef to join our team and contribute to our culinary success.
The Prep Chef is a crucial member of our kitchen team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely preparation of ingredients and components for our Lebanese breakfast menu. This role requires a strong understanding of Lebanese cuisine, excellent knife skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
ResponsibilitiesIngredient PreparationPrepare a wide range of ingredients, including vegetables, herbs, meats, and doughs, according to established recipes and standards.Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice ingredients with precision and efficiency.Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency in flavor and quality.Prepare fillings for mana'eesh, pastries, and other baked goods.Prepare dips and spreads such as hummus, baba ghanoush, and labneh.Prepare Foul and other hot breakfast items components.Bakery AssistanceAssist with the preparation of doughs and batters for bread, pastries, and mana'eesh.Ensure proper storage and handling of bakery ingredients.Assist with baking and proofing processes as needed.Kitchen MaintenanceMaintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.Properly store and label all prepared ingredients.Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils.Dispose of waste appropriately.Inventory ManagementAssist with inventory control and stock rotation.Report any shortages or discrepancies to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.Inform the kitchen manager of needed supplies.Team CollaborationWork effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues.Assist other kitchen staff as needed.Follow the instructions of the head chef.Adherence to StandardsFollow all recipes and preparation procedures consistently.Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.Adhere to all health and safety regulations.QualificationsProven experience as a Prep Chef or similar role, preferably in a Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine setting.Strong knowledge of Lebanese ingredients and cooking techniques.Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques.Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.A passion for Lebanese cuisine.Ability to work early mornings.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25 kg).Ability to work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.BenefitsCompetitive salary.Opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic environment.Potential for growth and advancement.Staff meals and discounts.Being a part of a passionate team that loves Lebanese food.Job TypesFull-time, Part-timePay : $23.94 - $30.00 per hour
