Downerhas been selected to take part in a national programme delivering design and construction of Node to Premises (N2P) technology for our client, the National Broadband Network. Increasing the footprint of the existing fibre network will allow more Australians to realise the benefits of reliable, high speed internet connections. - Field Supervisor
- This role is predominantly Perth metro based but may require travel to regional WA from time to time
- Ideally, you'll reside in the Perth region to meet this requirement otherwise a 10 / 4 roster will apply.
Responsible for supervising our construction partners, the Supervisor will ensure delivery of ticket of work and project works are on-time and to schedule as well as monitoring quality. Previous experience in a similar role combined with a collaborative leadership style will ensure your success in this position.
- ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated experience as a Supervisor within the telecommunications and civil construction industries
- Technical qualifications such as a Trade or Cert III in Telecommunications are an advantage
- Strong proven track record of managing contractors to meet defined targets
- Nbn, Telstra and / or other network construction and maintenance experience
- Strong understanding of the telecommunications Pit & Pipe Network combined with working knowledge of fibre optic networks
- Prior experience with field / scoping requirements, including conducting exchange and street communications network surveys and customer end surveys
- Must be physically fit and able to walk up to 5 km's per day and undertake heavy lifting up to 30 kilos
- A sound ability to coordinate sites with multiple work disciplines and faces
- Effective verbal and written skills including producing reports and paperwork on construction activities including prestart and quality checks.
- An uncompromising commitment to safety; dedicated to ensuring compliance at all times to site Safety and Environmental Management plans in consultation with the safety team to achieve "Zero Harm"
