We support Australia's defence capability by deploying expert engineering consultants into high-impact with a core specialisation in Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) acquisition, sustainment, research and development.
About the Role The role will be responsible for the leadership and management of a small team of weapons engineers working on GWEO Safety and Suitability for Service (S3) artefacts for the sustainment of, or introduction into service of Australian Defence Force Materiel.
The candidate shall provide and lead guided and non-guided weapons engineering services associated with areas such as energetic material qualification, weapons qualification, through-life management of explosive ordnance, insensitive munitions assessment, safety templates, EO Test and Evaluation, and guidance and control system certification.
This role will see you : Progress technical certification packages through the Chief Engineer review / approvals, Configuration Control Board and Innovator Processes. Exercise your familiarity and experience with GWEOG Explosive Materiel Branch's Engineering Management System, inclusive of but not limited to : Technical Certification Plan Manufacture to Target or Disposal Sequences Certification Basis Requirements Verification Summary and supporting reports including Storage & Transport elements Amendment of ADF publications such as maintenance procedures and Defence Explosive Ordnance Publications (DEOPS). You're Our Kind of Engineer If You... Are curious, capable, and collaborative, ready to both lead and learn. Bring at least 8 years' experience in Defence Weapons & Explosive Ordnance acquisition, sustainment, or test and evaluation. Hold Bachelor-level qualifications in engineering, sufficient for membership to Engineers Australia. Have experience with GWEO Group Explosive Materiel Branch's Engineering Management System, or former iterations thereof. Are known for building strong client and peer relationships, even in complex stakeholder environments. Hold an active Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting Level 1 or higher. Located in either Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne or Adelaide.
