About us

DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for and housing related services to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing and housing related services to ADF members and their families to support Defences operational needs.

DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility providing posting support and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and onbase accommodation to approximately 60000 ADF members.

About your team

The Service Delivery Group is responsible for meeting DHAs delivery objectives in the provision of quality housing services including provision stock management housing allocation livingin accommodation and repairs maintenance and tenancy services.

Service Operations maintain the regional offices which serve as the ADF members first pointofcontact for all housing services including allocations rent allowance and home maintenance. In addition to managing the incoming members tenancy regional office staff members are a valued source of local knowledge on community services and housing market conditions.

About the role

You will lead motivate and provide clear direction as well as manage the daily program of work of your team focusing on staff performance and ensuring the resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve business outcomes. You will ensure adherence to business procedures and processes manage the workflow resolve complex issues and manage the regions portfolio of service residences.

Required Skills :

• Indepth property management experience within the residential property industry and a proven ability to deliver business outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external staff and stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team in the provision of highquality customer service to meet organisation / team objectives including previous experience in developing work plans team goals and monitoring team performance
• High level organisational analytical problem solving and decisionmaking skills together with sound judgement and high attention to detail.
• Strong budget management experience including managing assetbased decisions in the context of commercial outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative show initiative and provide sound business solutions to identified issues
