About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Midwife to oversea the busy Birth Suite, which supports approximately 2,100-2,200 births annually. With a transition from obstetric-led care to a woman-led model of care underway, the Clinical Midwife will play a key role in guiding the midwifery team through this transformation while ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate maternity care.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide advanced clinical leadership in the Birth Suite, ensuring safe, high-quality, woman-centred care.
• Support a diverse team, with a focus on coaching and developing junior midwives.
• Apply expert knowledge to manage both complex and routine maternity cases confidently and holistically.
• Facilitate sensitive discussions with professionalism, advocating for women’s choices and informed decision-making.
• Maintain compliance with NSQHS and NMBA Midwife Standards, embedding best practice across the unit.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care across all stages of maternity.
• Monitor clinical data and reporting systems to guide decision-making and drive quality improvements.
• Lead initiatives in workforce planning, risk management, and staff performance development.
• Foster a positive, safety-focused team culture that supports learning and continuous improvement.
