About the role :

The Senior Software Developer is a key member of the Mission Planning team, providing expert technical support to defined programs of work in our Defence sector customer base. The Senior Software Developer will provide ongoing SME guidance and daily support across key Defence Portfolio Projects.

Location of work : Canberra Brisbane or Adelaide – Other locations may be considered!

Key Responsibilities : Work with a multidisciplinary technical team to develop, architect, integrate, test and support specialised technical solutions within the defined systems group, according to customer and project needs Apply knowledge and expertise in software development of Mission Planning System formats in a Defence environment. Take ownership of the research and development aspects of technical solutions within program scope, addressing issues in a timely manner Maintain integrity of hardware and software system configurations to MPE systems including Joint Mission Planning System and Electronic Flight Bag. Use methodical problem-solving skills to identify updates and reworks to support design. Documenting failures, root causes, fixes and verifications. Utilise relevant tools and equipment to support integration and debugging Effective stakeholder engagement on various mission planning system aspects, including both formal and ad-hoc as required. Architect, design and accurately document system components, interfaces and dataflows Desired Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree or related equivalent experience in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Broad professional experience at the technical level with Windows operating systems and platforms Maintain a current Driver's licence, without significant limitation on duties, and willingness to travel as reasonably required. Proficient in MS Office suite Mission Planning System or tactical data link experience, ideally in aviation sector Desirable to have obtained industry professional body certification in information security and field of applied practice.
