Project Manager

We are excited to be working with an industry leading rail freight operator seeking a seasoned ICT Project Manager.

This role will provide leadership and management to a number of medium sized APPLICATIONS projects in all areas of project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure; whilst ensuring successful implementation of the project objects within the constraints of scope, time, cost, quality, and delivery of planned benefits.

Position

YOU will manage projects on a day-to-day basis to deliver the required products within the constraints agreed with the Steering Committee, including but not limited to Project Management Plan

YOU will change, monitor, and control all project activities in accordance with the Project Management Plan as well as any related functional, operational, or legal requirements

YOU will report to the Steering Committee, senior management, project team, IT PMO, and other stakeholders on project progress with particular emphasis on actual and potential variations to cost, time and quality.

YOU will work with and align key partners, vendors, and contractors to deliver outcomes for the project.

Skills

Minimum of five years' experience in Information Technology project management.

High level of project management skills and experience in relation to large scale and complex organisations.

High level of operational management skills, especially leading and working with a professional team with particular emphasis on operating in a commercial environment.

Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and structure and the ability to adapt this to fit within the current Aurizon IT PMO standards.

High level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and an ability to effectively develop common goals and strong working relationships between senior managers, key internal and external stakeholders, and operational staff. Ability to go beyond schedule and resource management, driving outcomes and change.

Extensive skills in working with strategic partners to deliver agreed services and projects.

Proficient is using Microsoft Project and previous experience in using Project Online and the SAP Project Management modules is highly desirable.
