Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold / Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits.

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Graduate Mining Engineer will assist the Deflector Technical Services team in delivering detailed Drill and blast designs, mine designs, and schedules and assist in ongoing projects. Gain practical experience to qualify for the First-Class WA Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency. Work safely and in compliance with all Company standards, guidelines and procedures.

The position will be offered on either an 8 : 6 or 15 : 13 roster as FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

Key Responsibilities Of This Role Will Include

• Assisting with the development and execution of mine plans, including ventilation, backfill, and drill-and-blast designs.
• Understand and follow instructions given by more experienced or senior engineers.
• Collaborating effectively with technical services teams, Contractors and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure all allocated tasks are completed safely and on schedule.
• Actively participating in planning and production meetings
• Performing regular underground inspections
• Assisting in the preparation of the weekly and monthly mining schedules
