The Opportunity :
- Contribute to the development of feasibility studies, project evaluations, and long-term strategic plans for mining projects.
- Support mine planning and study work for both operational and development projects including both underground and open pit.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geological, geotechnical, environmental and operational factors into mine plans and activities.
- Undertake and contribute to Ore Reserves.
- Lead the development and implementation of mine planning strategies to optimise production efficiency and resource utilisation.
- Undertake options analysis of alternate mine designs and sequences to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Evaluate and recommend mining methods, equipment, and technologies to optimise productivity and reduce costs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site operations teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, both remotely and on-site.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.Minimum of 8 years of experience in mining engineering roles, with exposure to mine planning processes.Proven track record of successful project delivery in the mining industry, preferably in open pit and underground gold.Strong technical proficiency in Deswik mine planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a meticulous attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainable mining practices.Does this sound like you?
