This is a permanent, part-time position working 15 hours per week. In this important Djama, the Miyalk Navigator will walk alongside Yol?u women throughout their pregnancy journey, offering skilled support and companionship every step of the way. This includes care and guidance across a range of settings—from local communities and remote primary healthcare clinics to regional and urban maternity care services.

About Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we're committed to providing quality services across East Arnhem Land and enabling Yol?u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary and public health for over 6,000 residents of this remote landscape. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, and a Corporate Office in Darwin, our delivery is focused on 7 health centres across East Arnhem Land and dedicated outreach teams who travel to additional locations.

What we're looking for in you! The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Aboriginal Community Control, Yol?u culture, and the health issues faced in remote communities; Capacity to develop; or demonstrated effective English, Yol?u Matha and intercultural communication skills. A willingness to provide care and support to pregnant women using Yol?u Matha; and adequate confidence to use English in advocating to healthcare staff about women's needs and aspirations during sexual and reproductive healthcare.
