Software Engineer & Data Software Engineer Roles

Location : Adelaide, SAClearance : NV1Citizenship : Australian Citizens only (dual citizenship disclosure required)Sector : Defence / Electronic WarfareAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking experienced Software Engineers and Data Software Engineers to support a high-impact Defence capability.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development, enhancement, and sustainment of mission-critical software and data systems that underpin Australia's electronic warfare operations.You'll be working alongside Defence SMEs and technical specialists to modernise and automate key systems, improve data integration, and ensure robust, scalable software solutions are delivered in line with Defence engineering standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software and data systems for scientific and engineering applications.Translate complex operational requirements into scalable software solutions.Enhance automation and streamline workflows across analytical and production tools.Support integration of machine-to-machine data flows and validation processes.Contribute to full-stack development including GUI, backend, and database architecture.Ensure compliance with Defence software quality, security, and documentation standards.Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to APS / ADF personnel.Support administrative and reporting tasks aligned with Defence protocols.Technical EnvironmentDomains : Electronic Warfare, Defence systems, Data transformation and automationWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.5+ years of experience in software development or data engineering.Strong understanding of software engineering principles and lifecycle.Experience with automation, data pipelines, and system integration.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Prior experience in Defence or Electronic Warfare environments is highly desirable.Due to the nature of this work, applicants must : Be Australian citizens and eligible for NV1 security clearance.Disclose any dual citizenships during the recruitment process.ITAR - This position requires employees to access equipment and data that is subject to U.S International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR).
