About the RoleThe primary responsibility of the role is to review, maintain and improve the safety management system to ensure opportunities to meet improvement are identified and implemented.
To achieve this, you will :
Review, maintain and improve the health and safety management system in accordance with legislative requirements and a continuous improvement modelDevelop new health and safety management system documents according to business needReview and maintain health and safety training materials in conjunction with the training team, ensuring key messaging is communicated effectively to the target audienceUndertake gap analysis of management system against the global management system and local legislative changesIdentify opportunities within the management system to simplify messaging and achieve greater understanding of and compliance to the required outcomesMove management system forms from paper based to electronic where possibleEngage with other members of the health and safety team and the wider operational business on changes to the management systemProvide support to other functions within the team during periods of absenceAbout YouTo be successful, you will have :
Work health and safety qualification at a diploma level or aboveDemonstrated ability in the development and review of safety management system documentationStrong understanding of work health and safety legislationSound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role, specifically in a Windows based environmentExperience in a self-insured environment desirable but not essentialExcellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skillsAbility to communicate and interact with personnel at all levels within an organisationAbility to write both technically and in a style that will achieve high level of understanding with general workforceContribute in a team environment through developing positive working relationships that are based on trust and integrityCommitment to service and performance excellenceAbout ApplyingContactCate Ingham
