Great opportunity to join a national not-for-profit organisation to work at Group level for a 12-month fixed term contract.
As the Group OHS Specialist, you will primarily focus on :
Updating the safety management systems and associated policies in line with current ActDesign, develop and embed a new assurance systemA much lesser proportion of your time will be spent in creating robust reporting matrix to allow effective analytics and identify key trends.Some interstate travel will be required to engage with key stakeholders and understand the varying environments that these processes will be rolled out.
This role can have you based in Perth or Melbourne.
Key activitiesLead the ongoing development, implementation and improvement of a best practice OHS management and reporting system to support the OHS framework and strategy.Lead organisation wide improvement initiatives, including establishing working groups.Establish OHS monitoring and assurance processes and practices enabling simplicity, insight and management of emerging and current risks.Establish relationships with external stakeholders, including other healthcare organisations, industry associations and research organisations.Develop OHS reporting metrics and reporting tools to ensure the right insights are delivered to senior leadersDeliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual OSH reports to key stakeholders via optimized processes to reduce data handling and error.Complete scheduled and ad hoc analysis, using qualitative and quantitative data (internal and external) to deliver insights to key stakeholders and inform future improvement initiatives and strategicLead organisation wide OHS improvement initiatives and influence caregivers at all levels of the organisation.Upon completion of your 12 month assignment, success will be seen by completing key focuses such as :
New assurance system rolled outCritical risk framework completeImprove reporting packages to the boardKey policies and procedures inline with the new ActMinimum tertiary degree and five (5) years' experience in Health, Wellbeing, Safety, Risk or other relevant field.Substantial technical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of OHS concepts, contemporary WHS legislation and practice including experience in hazard identification, assessment and controlSound critical thinking, information gathering, problem solving and communication skills and judgement to analyse OHS problems and generate innovative, practical evidence-informed solutionsHigh level communication and engagement skillsInter-state travel required on a quarterly - six monthly basisBenefitsThis is a great opportunity to work within a national role creating improved process and procedures and embedding them into an established business.
