The roleOpportunity for a Workforce Planner to join our team based at Garden Island Defence Precinct. The purpose of this role is to ensure that a suitably skilled and qualified Australian workforce is available at the right time to meet the region's needs in delivering Australia's continuous naval sustainment. As a Workforce Planner, you will support the development of regional workforce planning strategies, including the provision of workforce analytics and reporting. This will help improve performance, address workforce challenges, and support regional decision-making.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing workforce plans, strategies, and initiatives that align with our objectives. Your expertise will drive effective talent forecasting, recruitment, and development efforts to optimize workforce productivity and performance.
Responsibilities include :
Support all levels of workforce planning (Operational, Tactical, and Strategic) for internal and contractual requirements.Establish and maintain a regional workforce taxonomy with necessary datasets for current and future workforce needs aligned to standards.Capture and maintain workforce commitments, known external activities (Demand), and capacity and capability within the region (Supply).Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide insights and options related to Demands and Supply.Conduct comprehensive analysis of workforce trends, regional needs, and talent gaps to anticipate future requirements.Use data analytics and forecasting techniques to proactively address potential gaps in workforce demand.Advise functional leads in recruitment and selection, partnering with hiring managers to attract top talent.Monitor and analyse workforce metrics, performance indicators, and key data to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in workforce planning and talent management for continuous improvement.Maintain knowledge of regional and national workforce drivers, including resource constraints, competing industries, and Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment activitiesHow about you?Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field (not essential)Experience in a business analyst, workforce planning, talent management, or a related roleWell-developed analytical skills with the ability to critically think about the purpose of the analysis and interrogate data to find new insightsDemonstrated experience in data analysis, forecast and resource modelling with a high degree of accuracyDemonstrated experience using Power BI reporting to monitor outcomes and performanceAs part of our commitment, we offerWork on a site with the million-dollar viewLeading leave policiesOn-site parking and subsides transport optionsGrowth and Development opportunitiesStudy AssistanceEmployee discountsGym Membership (Fitness passport)And now the fine Print!As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
