The Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM) at Curtin University works closely with the grains industry to reduce the burden of crop disease and increase the profitability of Australian farmers. With a large team of more than 80 research staff, CCDM's multidisciplinary approach uniquely allows us to effectively deliver robust solutions to challenges faced by Australian grain producers.
Your new roleWe are seeking a positive and proactive Administrative Officer to join CCDM and support the Centre with a wide range of administrative duties. As a key point of contact, and an integral part of our operations, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a team that encourages collaboration and new ideas. This role is broad ranging within its scope and requires an efficient individual with outstanding communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to :
Provide administrative and logístical support for projects and other discrete area activities.Provide administrative support to CCDM Leadership.Communicate with relevant stakeholders and service providers to organize meetings, services, and procurement of goods.Establish, maintain and keep up to date, efficient administrative processes and practices within the Centre.Liaise with relevant area stakeholder, School administration and University functional areas to ensure specific work is completed as necessary.Support the Centre operations Manager with the administration of the area's financial obligationsBe responsible for ensuring travel requests are prepared with sufficient information for the approval processIn this role, you can expect many opportunities for professional development, with one of our Centre's three objectives revolving around improving human capacity to meet the requirements of the agriculture industry. We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant discipline such as business management, administration, economics or with relevant experience.
