Hydraulic Technician / Fitter

Duties include overhauling various hydraulic components, assisting with on-site jobs and general workshop assistance as required. The position will suit someone who takes pride in doing a quality job, can work in a logical and methodical manner, is patient and enjoys intricate work.

• LOCATION
• The position is located in Wilsonton, Toowoomba and is predominantly workshop based, however there will be occasions where work is required to be carried out at a customer's site. This is a full-time position with minimum 38 hours a week. 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.00 - 3.00 pm on Fridays.

Flexibility is required for site work and during peak periods.

• QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
• Must be Trade qualified with mechanical related Diploma or above.
• Minimum three (3) years of full-time work.
• Ability to rework parts for component overhauls.
• Computer Aided Drawing skills.
• CNC programming skills to enable programming of lapping machines.
• Sound knowledge of hydraulic control systems, PLC, pressure transducers, sensors and flow meters.
• Experience with wiring and trouble shooting of electrical circuits used in control systems;
• Experience in use of ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
• Sound literacy and mathematical skills
• Organisational ability to work on allocated jobs in a clean, methodical, and structured manner.
• Maturity and motivation to work unsupervised and concentrate on intricate tasks.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a team.
• Good phone manner and customer service skills to promote company services and expertise and build customer rapport.
• Ability to document and report on customer jobs using MS Excel, Powerpoint and MS Word;
• DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Disassembling, inspecting, and measuring suitability of parts for re-use.
• Reworking internal parts with the strictest attention to detail and manufacturer's tolerances.
• Trouble shoot electrical circuit wiring faults.
• Assembling components to exacting tolerances.
• Setting controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed dies in machines and presses.
• Setting up of specialised machines and tools, such as CNC lapping machines to fabricate specialised dies and tool holders;
• Fabricating, assembling and fitting hydraulic hose assemblies
• Accurately record information to maintain job cards, time sheets and other documentation to a high standard.
• A desire to learn and expand skill base.
• Commitment and ability to adhere to strict company safety policies.
• Willingness to assist in other general duties when necessary, such as cleaning parts, painting components, packaging items for transport, pickup and delivery of local items and maintaining a clean and safe working place.
