As the Lead Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting user-centered experiences that drive customer satisfaction and business success.In this role, you'll leverage both qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions and elevate outcomes.

From leading user research, interviews, and surveys to fostering a collaborative design culture, you'll be at the heart of a dynamic, innovative process.The core responsibilities of the Lead Designer includes but is not limited to : 1.

Leadership and People ManagementCoach and mentor a team of Product Designers, fostering their professional growth and enabling them to deliver impactful results.Conduct regular 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and provide actionable feedback to team members.Advocate for the design team within the organisation, ensuring their contributions are recognised and aligned with strategic goals.2.

Strategic Collaboration and Work PrioritisationCollaborate with the R&D extended leadership team to prioritise work, set focus, and align the Product Design team with company objectives.Define a strong and coherent vision for the user experience of ELMO products, ensuring design plays a critical role in achieving business outcomes.Actively contribute to a collaborative Scrum environment, supporting lean development practices and MVP thinking.Guide product decisions through user research, customer engagement and iterative feedback loops.3.

User-Centred Design and ResearchMaintain a user-centred approach to design and development, identifying and codifying customer needs.Conduct and help facilitate user research, including interviews, polls, surveys, prototyping, and usability testing, to guide product decisions.Encourage development team participation in customer research activities, fostering cross-functional collaboration.Mentor design team members and other product team members in lean user research methodologies, with an approach of just enough research.Use quantitative data to complement qualitative insights, providing timely feedback loops to enhance user outcomes.Facilitate planning and ideation sessions actively promoting strong team collaboration on solutions.Encourage participation from development team members in Customer research activities.4.

Design Execution and ExcellenceAs part of the role, from time to time, there will be an expectation on hands-on design capability.Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and hifi designs using our design system.Design for a wide range of accessibility needs, devices, and interfaces.Adhere to and contribute to the evolution of ELMO's visual identity and interaction language.Identify design problems and devise elegant, scalable solutions.5.

Innovation and Industry AwarenessStay abreast of competitor solutions, industry trends, and emerging technologies to introduce innovative practices and ideas.Continuously refine short-term and long-term strategies for user experience improvements.6.

Culture and Vision BuildingPromote a collaborative team culture where creativity, openness, and respect thrive.Facilitate planning and ideation sessions to encourage strong collaboration and solution-driven thinking.Represent and evangelize the role of design within ELMO, presenting the value of user-centred practices in achieving business goals.7.

Compliance and DeliveryEnsure compliance with ELMO's information security and privacy policies and procedures.Support the on-time delivery of business and client outcomes through effective collaboration and execution.Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience : Minimum 5 years in Product Design, with 2+ years in a leadership role managing and mentoring teams.Portfolio : A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in end-to-end design process, from discovery to delivery.Experience with mobile design : designing for mobile platforms and optimising user experiences for a variety of devices is highly desired.Tools : Our component library is made in Figma.

Demonstrated experience utilising best practices and advanced features to streamline design workflows, promote collaboration, and ensure consistency across projects within the suite of products.Design thinking : Deep understanding of design principles, user-centred design methodologies, and design thinking, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and elevate the design team within the company.Leadership abilities : Proven ability to lead and inspire design teams, manage cross-functional relationships, and prioritise work effectively in fast-paced environments.Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively while maintaining a positive attitude and attention to quality.Sounds like you?
