As an educator at Glen Eira City Council, you will support the room leader in delivering high quality care and education that is safe, stimulating and educationally appropriate for children. You will be supported by an exceptional Team Leader and Early Childhood Teachers and will be given every opportunity to learn and grow.
You will also be part of the Family, Youth and Children's Services Department - a team who are passionate about the best outcomes for children, young people, and families in Glen Eira through advocating, collaborating, and providing high quality services.
- Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to : _
- Assisting with the implementation and delivery of the curriculum, programs and activities.
- Assisting with room set up / pack up and cleaning.
- Engaging with children and ensuring they have a fun and exciting day!
- Liaising with families to ensure their children's needs are met.
- Ensuring all relevant records are accurately maintained

- Qualifications and Skills
You will have :
- A clear understanding of child development
- Experience in behaviour management
- Detailed understanding of Education and Care Services National Regulations and laws
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Minimum of a Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent
- Current CPR and First Aid qualifications (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma management)
- Important information
- The position is on a casual basis which will consist of working across all three of our Early Learning Centres and Carnegie Occasional Care covering rostered days off, and annual / sick leave.
- Applicants must be willing to undergo a police records check and work based medical for the purposes of employment.
- About Glen Eira's Early Learning Centres
Council has three Early Learning Centres (Caulfield, Murrumbeena and Carnegie) and an Occasional Care Centre in Carnegie which provides a creative, safe and nurturing environment that enhances each child's curiosity and natural desire to learn. Each Centre offers full day care and kindergarten programs for children from six months to school age.
We have recently been assessed to be "Exceeding" National Quality Standards in all 7 quality areas. We are very proud to be a high quality early learning centre and our team are very dedicated to delivering exceptional educational curriculums.
