Systems Engineer

6 Month Contract $800 - $900 per day including super Opportunity to lead this project About the role : Our client are an organisation based in Brisbane who are on the lookout for an experienced Systems Engineer to join the End User Support team to support the implementation of security controls aligned with the ASD Essential Eight – Maturity Level One.

This role will report into the Team Leader – End User Support and require liaising with the Cyber Security team, the Managed Services Provider, and Project Managers.

This role takes a special focus on implementing the technical controls and processes required to achieve and maintain ASD Essential 8 alignment.

The role requires a strong understanding of enterprise systems, security hardening, patching, application control, and endpoint protection.

What you will be doing day to day :

• Conduct assessments of current systems and controls against ASD Essential 8 requirements.
• Plan, estimate, and execute on uplift activities necessary to achieve and maintain Essential 8 alignment.
• Deploy, implement, and / or manage tools and technologies supporting controls such as Application Whitelisting, Patch Management, Privilege Access Management, MFA, and Backup Management.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security, Application Development, End Users and their Managed Service Provider About You : At least 5 years hands-on IT experience including : Implementing technical controls and processes to implement ASD Essential 8 controls End point device management via Intune.

M365 management Windows Desktop and Server fleet management.

Patch Management Solutions (Microsoft Intune + AWS) Application Whitelisting (Microsoft Applocker, WDAC) Privileged Access Management Microsoft environment management (Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, Defender, etc).

Ability to work autonomously within a Scrum framework to deliver on commitments.
