Working alongside the State Lead, provide guidance and support in the management of HSEQ system implementation and compliance to our expanding ACT team. You will operate out of our Symonston office and provide a site presence across ACT projects.
The ideal person will have previous experience in a HSE advisor role, perhaps having worked with a smaller construction firm and now looking to step up into larger main contractor.
Your duties will include :
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation
- Coach, advise and educate site personnel of legislative requirements and changes to comply with company procedures
- Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions
- Assist management to encourage a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible working culture
- Conduct HSEQ site inspections and audits
- Coach site teams on effective delivery of pre-start meetings and toolbox meetings
- Coordinate HSEQ training programs including the maintenance of competency standards
- Actively analyse HSEQ performance, reporting and system updates
- Maintain company IMS to an accredited level
- Compile project specific HSEQ documentation to support tender bids as required
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a HSE Advisor role
- Must have construction experience (preferably commercial sector)
- Exposure to Defence sites ideal however not essential
- Flexibility to travel to regional areas if required, with overnight stays on monthly basis
- Hold a current and valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (car allowance will be provided)
- Experience in creation and reviewing SWMS and JHA’s
- Have an understanding of Quality Management processes
