• Core requirements of the role : _
• Perform, assist, and supervise a range of communication systems maintenance tasks, basic fault finding, cleaning, repair work, servicing, material shifting, adjusting and other general non trades tasks required on communication systems installations, equipment, plant, poles and masts, to level of training and competency and consistent with rail safety and licensing regulations.
• Undertake cabling activities within the scope of an ACMA open cabling license.
• Dig trenches, lay cables, conduits, pits and pipes and undertake other manual work tasks related to communications maintenance.
• Maintain and use relevant hand and power tools (including pneumatic tools), equipment and machinery and ensures these and the work site are left in a clean and safe condition.
• Read communication systems schematic plans and documentation in relation to maintenance tasks.
• Undertake a range of measurements and calculations, and completes workplace forms, records and other written and electronic documentation as required.
