About the Role Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Team on a permanent full-time basis.

As a Senior Clinical Coder, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate Clinical Coding of all inpatient episodes.

Duties and responsibilities involve but are not limited to : Deliver precise and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures in accordance with the latest coding standards.Process confidential data used for billing, morbidity collections, research, statistical analysis, management information system, quality activities and case mix management, including Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) allocation.Participate in coding audits, quality assurance and education to expand coding skills.About You To thrive in this role, you will excel in both team and independent work environment, fostering positive relationships and strong communication networks with all stakeholders and departments across the hospital.

You will also bring :

Minimum 5 years' experience working as a clinical coder.You will have a HIMAA Introductory / Intermediate Clinical Coding Course / Certificate IV in Clinical Classification (or equivalent) or Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).Sound and updated Clinical Coding knowledge using ICD-10-AM / ACHI / ACS.Knowledge and understanding of DRG, casemix and private hospital funding models.Knowledge and understanding of current Privacy legislation.Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.Good analytical and abstracting skills.About Us Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital has four operating theatres, specialising in Orthopaedics (Robotics), Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Urology, Oral Surgery and Gynaecology.
