Horse Trainer

Griffiths Training Pty Ltd is currently seeking to fill the following full-time position at Cranbourne VIC.

• Horse Trainer / Senior Foreperson
• Applicants for the position should be able educate young horses and supervise all associated activities in the horse training regime, including veterinary care, vet liaison, transport of horses and activities with support services, such as the farriers and dentists; Supervise staff and set rosters; Advise trainer on factors affecting horses and their education; Supervise horse feeding program to ensure optimum fitness and performance and ensuring supplies are ordered and maintained as well as ensure staff train horses in line with training plans

The salary will be above award - in the range of $70,000 to $95,000 per annum depending upon the level of skill.

Essential Skills :

All applicants must have a minimum of 3-year full time professional experience in the role and be able to prove you are reliable workers with excellent horsemanship skills. In addition, the following will be required :

• Proven ability to educate and training thoroughbred horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to provide information and advice to others and prepare reports
• Ability to direct a team
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses

Desirable Qualification :

• International experience
• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification

Pay : $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

• Afternoon shift
• Morning shift
