The Infrastructure Services Section within the SIM Program requires a Senior Systems Engineer to take responsibility for the Bureaus second level support of enterprise Microsoft platforms and associated technologies that support the Bureaus network identity management and corporate office IT operations.
The team is well established with long-standing responsibilities for the build and operation of these systems. This includes ongoing patching and capacity management, fulfilling moves / adds / changes and related service requests, and consultation with designers, architects and project teams.
To be successful in the role you will : -
- Bring with you and contribute relevant hands-on experience and expertise in enterprise grade Microsoft technologies - including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Certificate Authority, SQL and HyperV;
- Have an awareness of adjacent technology stacks (endpoint configuration, networking, and M365 services) and how they interact with platforms we manage;
- Have an awareness of applicable Microsoft best practices and patterns, design and implementation concepts and principles, and specific considerations for their implementation in an Australian government agency;
- Be aware of government cyber security frameworks and how they apply to ICT infrastructure;
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
