We’re seeking a dynamic leader to join our Group Procurement team within the Financial Services Business Unit. This pivotal role will drive strategic outcomes, operational excellence and procure-to- pay enablement across a broad and high-impact global team. The ideal candidate will bring deep large-corporate procurement experience, paired with strong analytical and execution capabilities. Success in this role requires a sharp operational mindset, organisational savvy, and the ability to lead and inspire a team while navigating complex stakeholder environments.

Your role is to lead, mentor and manage a team of Procurement Strategy & specialists across Australia and India, whilst guiding and contributing directly to the following activities :
Leadership

Lead, motivate and direct a high-performing and accountable team responsible for interfacing with business and supplier partners
Performance insights :
Lead the development of a cohesive performance narrative by guiding the Reporting & Analytics Squad on requirements and integrating insights across Dashboard and Reporting outputs to deliver a clear, strategic view of functional performance. Includes : Spend and Savings Performance, Benefits Delivered, ELT Metrics and OKRs, Process performance, P2P performance.
Partner closely with the Reporting & Analytics Squad to shape forward-looking, ambitious reporting that enhances transparency across existing data and explores opportunities to augment with new insights.
Maintain portfolio of external benchmarking and insight tools to support optimisation of deal execution across category and performance of function overall.
Risk Management
Maintain key Controls across the Procurement Lifecycle process; support testing and associated audits.
Provide and deploy appropriate process and governance to address all aspects of risk
Procurement Template & Tool Embedding :
Drive adoption and impact of AI tools across the procurement lifecycle, reimagining processes to accelerate outcomes and unlock new value across all stages of colleague activity today.
Manage, optimise, and support the change management of procurement tools and templates—including contract templates and playbooks (in collaboration with Legal and Risk Domain SMEs), sourcing documents (e.g. RFX, negotiation templates). Ensure all templates are fit for the Bank’s needs, well-governed, accessible, market-leading, AI optimised and embedded through training. Conduct periodic sampling of ensure contract compliance across the team.
Procurement Enablement :
Deliver strategic or tactical procure-to-pay strategies, both through established Programmes and continuous improvement.
Deliver on Contract Executions, Contract storage, Buying Channel establishment and maintenance, end-user guidance and tooling
Provide end-user support for suppliers and stakeholders when using Procurement systems and tools ensuring a strong NPS is maintained; support management of system incidents and issues
Provide Category support for the execution of low-risk contracts or RfXs.
Key Strategic or Regulatory Programmes
Lead Group Procurement’s first response to shaping new programmes of work driven by Group or Regulation (including CPS230 Contract Compliance); lead any follow-up execution activity and / or coordinate efforts across the wider Group Procurement team.
Colleague Framework :
Lead Group Procurement’s Colleague and Capability framework and expectations, in complement to Group
India Procurement :
Lead Group Procurement’s combined India team, ensuring the structure reflects the needs of the Group Procurement Leadership team and that the balance of activity is right-fit to support business needs particularly as they scale and evolve
Staff Deals :
Lead the Group’s Staff Deals proposition—overseeing partner engagement, offer curation, and platform governance to ensure staff access to high-value lifestyle deals as part of the broader CBA Value Proposition.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have :
Extensive procurement experience preferably from a regulated and large-corporate environment
Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, as one team
Ability to manage large and varied stakeholder group at all levels of seniority across Business Units outside immediate area and influence change
Ability to think laterally and develop new and innovative solutions to problems
Strong capability in procurement related risk management
Excellent leadership skills
