You'll be responsible for assisting in the implementation of budget measures and sector analysis to support policy development. Working under tight deadlines, you'll prepare various briefs for the senior executive, draft responses to Ministerial Correspondence and Questions on Notice.
This Government Department is seeking a APS 6 Policy Officer who is highly motivated and experienced with Health Policy and Data. As a Policy Officer, you will be involved in drafting policy advice, interpreting pathology rules and related legislation, monitoring service utilisation trends, and managing a variety of contracts on COVID-19 related pathology matters.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide policy advice to the Advisory Committee on new pathology services proposed for public funding
- Assist in the implementation of budget measures and sector analysis to support policy development
- Draft responses to Ministerial Correspondence and Questions on Notice, Senate Question Time Briefs, Meeting Briefs, Ministerial Submissions, and prepare regular and ad hoc briefs for senior executives
- Consult with the pathology sector to ensure that the MBS pathology items are appropriate and contemporary
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals
