The Role
Marymead CatholicCare and ACT Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) work in partnership to deliver STEPS. The STEPS program provides 24-hour residential support for up to five young people aged 13 to 18 years who have moderate to severe mental illness. The program is a step up / step down model working within a case management framework to assist young people to identify recovery goals and work towards these with their CAMHS clinician and their other supports, including family. The program services young people across the whole of the ACT.
STEPS operates on a structured rostering system and is currently seeking individuals available to work in specific permanent part-time roles, ranging from 38 to 60 hours per fortnight.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will :
You will be working with young people in mental distress. This position requires effective time management and administration skills as well as the ability to work efficiently within a specialist youth mental health team. Successful applicants must have a strong belief that all people can achieve outcomes, are values driven and contribute to their community.
