6 Month Contract + (Potential for Extension / Permanent Vacancy)Pay : $800 - $850 / day + superLocation : North Sydney & WFH (2 days onsite / week)Hrs of Work : 40hrs / weekPrimary purpose of the roleThe role manages, coordinates and delivers a broad range of external communication and community engagement services for the NSW Maritime Branch within the Greater Sydney Division.
The role will also play a pivotal role in supporting key stakeholders and project managers to deliver a broad range of communication and community engagement initiatives to the users of a leading state government organisation.
- Key accountabilities
- Manage a team of communication staff, external resources, communications budget and third party suppliers to drive the efficient and effective development and delivery of communication and community engagement services and initiatives.
- Enhance the reputation of NSW Maritime services as a valued community participant by providing innovative opportunities to engage the community.
- Ensures all projects have communication and engagement strategies, plans and budget in place developed in partnership with project leaders and relevant members of the Greater Sydney Division.
- Build and maintain collaborative and consultative working relationships with external stakeholders, including community groups and associations, to promote open communication and facilitate delivery of best practice communication and community engagement initiatives.
- Contributes to the delivery of NSW Maritime projects by ensuring customer engagement according to the organisations broader goals and policies and through the provision of customer information, engagement, issues management, and tools including online and digital initiatives.
- Ensure collaboration with organisations project leaders in managing community consultation and education initiatives, performance improvement programs, the delivery of community engagement and customer and stakeholder management priorities.
- Key knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications programs for contentious and sensitive public issues, including experience in conducting public meetings and forums using a wide range of engagement tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain cohesive and effective team, maximising performance at an individual and team level through a transformational period.
- Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent suitable and relevant experience in communications, media or public relations.
