Catholic Education has a network of 18 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools.The Position : The Leader of Inclusion Support Services is responsible to the Deputy Director, Teaching and Learning for leadership in the areas of student achievement, inclusion and disability.
The Leader of Inclusion Support Services will lead the model of support services, professional learning, and coordinate multi-disciplinary services in Inclusive Education and provision of professional assistance to schools with students requiring individualised programs.Key Responsibilities : Have oversight of appropriate, consistent practices around the enrolment and transition of students with inclusion needs to ensure inclusive and equitable practice in line with the Disability Standards for Education (2005);Ensure that processes are in place in Catholic Education Northern Territory for students requiring education adjustment plans (EAPs);Ensure appropriate procedures are in place for enrolment, identification, assessment and referral processes, and equitable and transparent allocation of funding for students with disabilities;Coordinate the work of CEO Inclusion Support staff and external professionals involved in the provision' of student support services to Catholic schools in disability and special learning needs, to ensure transparent and equitable services;Lead team in maintaining currency of knowledge and skills in relevant areas.Oversight of professional learning, including the mandated DSE 2005 online training for school leaders, coordinators, teachers and support staff in the relevant areas;Collaborate with the Quality Education Support Team to foster inclusive practice; holistic education in the Catholic tradition, and an appreciation of teaching and learning;Full details are outlined in the position description.Demonstrated knowledge of the current Australian Government including those relating to the Disability Standards for Education (2005) and an understanding of the education of students with inclusion needs;Excellent knowledge of current curriculum, theory and practice in relation to special needs programs and assessment tools;Experience in managing budgets and providing advice regarding funding expenditure;Successful experience in leading teams and coordinating services;Significant experience and knowledge of Inclusive Education theory and practice in the development of programs to support students with diverse needs;Full details are outlined in the position description.What We're Looking For : Eligibility for registration as a teacher in the Northern Territory and / or psychology registration Masters or further qualifications in education, Special Education, psychology, or another relevant qualification.A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience.NT Drivers Licence;Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)What We Offer : Relocation Assistance up to $4,000Excellent Work Life Balance – Working hours are from 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PMFunded Professional DevelopmentEmployee Assistance ProgramThis position may involve working with children.
