Senior Accountant

We have long-term investments in iron ore projects in the Pilbara, spanning over 50 years.The RoleWe're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our close-knit Perth team.

In this role, you'll take the lead on financial reporting and analysis across our mining joint ventures, working closely with our Finance Manager, Tokyo Head Office, and partners at Rio Tinto.This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a meaningful way, gain exposure to operations, and be part of a collaborative team that values accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities will include : Lead financial accounting, month-end and quarter-end reporting processes in compliance with IFRS, J-SOX and the Mitsui Group Accounting Manual.Analyse JV operating and capital reports, identify key cost drivers and provide recommendations to MIOD management.Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, and capital expenditure reports.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.Liaise regularly with JV operators and participate in partner meetings.Ensure compliance with internal governance policies and external audit requirements.Provide guidance and support to local and Tokyo-based colleagues as needed.The PersonYou are a reliable, resourceful and motivated finance professional with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to manage deadlines across complex stakeholder environments.
