Employment type – Temporary 6-month opportunity (full time) available Salary – $223,417 to $247,520 total remuneration payable Employment type – Temporary 6-month opportunity (full time) available Principal location – Parramatta negotiated Salary – $223,417 to $247,520 total remuneration payable The opportunityThe Department of Communities and Justice has a six-month temporary opportunity available for the Director Civil Justice Vulnerable Communities and Inclusion role.

As all Senior Executive Band 1 roles within the Policy, Reform, and Legislation branch share the same role description, a talent pool for future temporary and ongoing opportunities within the listed roles may also be created.

Other Director roles in PRL include the Courts, Access to Justice and Regulatory, Criminal Justice Systems and Law Enforcement and Crime teams.View the role description here .What You'll DoThe Policy, Reform and Legislation (PRL) branch is responsible for ensuring that DCJ's legal and policy framework is aligned with the Government's current priorities.

PRL provides expert legal policy and law reform advice, and the development of legislation in the justice and communities' sectors.The PRL branch provides support to the Attorney General, the Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Inclusion, and other Ministers, to DCJ, and to other departments.

The PRL branch supports the development and delivery of justice systems reforms and provides parliamentary and administrative support services.The Directors WillLead the development, evaluation and implementation of cluster wide strategies in line with legislative priorities of the Government and Department Provide comprehensive advice on a range of key stronger community portfolio policy priorities Manage law and major process reforms to ensure targeted strategies can be implemented quickly and manages ongoing review and reform of major legislation Participate in and contribute to strategic and business planning processes, aligning policy review with organisational goals Establish and sustain effective working relationships with senior policy professionals and key stakeholders across the public sector Identify, evaluate, and critically analyse highly complex and politically sensitive issues and concerns affecting policy outcomes to deliver evidence-based decision making and develop logical, practical, and well-balanced policy resolutions Director Civil Justice Vulnerable Communities and Inclusion (CJVCI)CJVCI undertake research, draft legal policy advice and develop legislative and non-legislative projects relating to the civil justice system, including discrimination and guardianship law and provide support for the legislative program for the Attorney General.What We're Looking ForMust hold Legal qualification or equivalent, have a sound understanding of the justice system, applied knowledge and experience in managing major project including people management.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in building collaborative partnerships.

Highly developed policy skills and an ability to negotiate outcomes.

Experience as a senior executive, leading a strong people culture that aligns to vision, purpose, and goals of the organisation.
