About the role
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Regional Coordinator within West Moreton Health (WMH) will be critical to ensuring a coordinated, timely, efficient, trauma informed and sustainable sexual assault service response. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is an advanced clinical practice registered nurse who provides clinical services within the Ipswich Hospital Emergency Department to patients who present following a sexual assault and or disclose experiencing a sexual assault and supports WMH staff in relation to management and care of patients following a sexual assault.
This role participates in an on-call roster - minimum eight shifts per month - providing a 24-hour, 7 day a week coverage to respond to victims of sexual assault including forensic examinations. Rostered day shifts will be followed by rostered overnight on-call to assist with 24 / 7 service requirements.
